You're insecure, don't know what for,
You're turning heads when you walk through the door.
Don't need make-up to cover up;
Being the way that you are is enough,
You're turning heads when you walk through the door.
Don't need make-up to cover up;
Being the way that you are is enough,
Everyone else in the room can see it,
Everyone else but you.
What Makes You Beautiful // One Direction
Everyone else but you.
What Makes You Beautiful // One Direction
If this song was written for anyone, it was for my gorgeous sister, Sarah. Okay, guys... come on. Take one look at her... (100% makeup-less, mind you!)

Gosh.

She doesn't know (oh-oh!) that she's drop-dead gorgeous.

She's more than my little sis. She's a bestest friend.

we listen to One Direction (haha!) and speak to each other in song lyrics...

we snitch ice cream late at night...

while watching bbc miniseries like North and South
and old movies like the Andy Griffith Show.

we crack up over Pinterest finds...

...and tease each other about boys. (A little bit)

we each each other's Snickers bars and she teases me about my coffee habits.

I tutor her in algebra and she shares about lifeguarding stuff.

we play piano duets (too loud) and sit outside in the sunshine tanning to the Beach Boys.

we swap stories of the past year that we were separated by two thousand, five hundred and thirty-two point three one miles miles (exactly).

Uhhhhh. Stop being so magnificent already. You're distracting me...

yes... anyway.

we work like two farm hands alongside Daddy...
JUST as good as any ol' boys, right, Sarah?

We call each other nicknames... way too many to count here.
I'm Hunter, she's Sandie. (?)
She's Jimmy, I'm Buck. (??)
I'm Johnny, she's Ponyboy. (???)
and we just get weirder. (don't ask about Festus and Zooolie... with three o's. okay?)
and more fabulous.

we make plans "in case" we end up two old maids...
in other words, in case she doesn't get her tall, blond surfer dude and I don't get my tall..... tall... ummm I don't know WHAT he's gonna be as long as he's tall. haha! I'm not picky, just choosey.
just keeeding (mostly)

okay... back on track!!

I don't know WHY, but our parents leave us with our 10-year-old sis (!!) and we have the most fantastic adventures. ever.

we lay on our backs on the still sun-warmed concrete and count shooting stars.

we commiserate over the rain and enjoy the splendid SUNSHINE! (just for your information... summer basically JUST started out here in Washington state...) yeah.
continuing...
we share hoodies and shorts.

we roll up our sleeves and spend the day cutting grass and whacking weeds, then we cool off by wading in the creek.

we make a HUGE mess in the kitchen, then we clean it up and enjoy the benefits of our hard work. yum.

speaking of cleaning... we turn the music up and open the bedroom windows (even in December) and scare the dust bunnies out of our room with loud music and the huge vacuum cleaner. and plenty of Snickers as a reward.

Okay, I'm seriously getting distracted by all this... sigh... amazingness.
Seriously, Sarah. Stop being so beautiful already!!

we make each other laugh while we're putting in our contacts in the morning, because that's always just an awkward thing to do...

she comes into work and I tease her by making my little sis's ice cream cone bigger... but not really. I make up for it later.

I bet you didn't know by now...
but yes. We like food.

but we also like to work out. Early mornings in the gym, trying to outdo each other and impress our former champion tennis-playing Mom.
"my muscles are bigger!"
"Oh yeah? well I can run farther/faster/longer/whatever..."
blah, blah, blah.

we call each other dude and we dream about the day we'll finally learn to surf...
since snowboarding was already crossed off our bucket lists. (woot, woot!)

she's the vanilla to my chocolate,
she's my roommate,
she makes the jokes and I laugh at them...
and the whole family laughs at us laughing at each other...
sometimes so hard we can't even catch our breath.
and we get along famously.

More than that... we love each other.
well, at least I love her.
To the moon and BACK.
Sarah, you're the BEST. I love you so incredibly much, and I know that the Lord has HUGE things in store for you. You're beautifully stunning inside and out - as cliche as that sounds, it is TOTALLY true. Never stop smiling with your whole face - dimples, freckles, brown eyes, and all.
cuz you've got that one thing...
love ya, girl. =)
